DS (27 months) has more than his share of mosquito bites (as do we all) because we live in a god-forsaken buggy part of the country.
Last night, one of the bites had "spread" into a nickel-sized red circle. This morning, I noticed that it was just smaller than a quarter, but a definite bullseye shape. The inner circle is pimple-sized, red, hard, and raised. It does not seem to bother him. He seems to be feeling ok, and I haven't noticed a fever. The last few days he's been a bit cranky around the edges, but that could also be a symptom of him being 2!
We frequently go on hikes, so I suppose he could have been exposed to a tick, though I never saw one on him.
I called the ped, and they recommended that he come in today. I dread the expense (our health insurance is virtually useless) and the potential of him being on antibiotics for several weeks straight. But, I know it's wise to be proactive with suspected Lyme, since the disease can be awful if left untreated.
Anyone have any words of advice?
