Figured I'd bring this back.
I am super excited today because I figured out how to nurse no-handed in my Didymos wrap. I've been trying different things with it, but now I think I've found a carry that really works for us -- whoo-hoo! This is what worked for us.
I'm on day 2 since my husband went back to work fulltime and so far so good. I feel almost normal, which helps so, so much. I go to the CNM for my postpartum check this afternoon, which will be nice. I haven't appreciated the ability to deal with laundry before. I'm now 3.5 weeks postpartum. I have people bringing us dinner almost every night for another week still, which is totally awesome. I'm cutting myself some slack on other meals, buying food we'd normally make from scratch. I'm starting to get back into canning (and composting/feeding the chickens) with garden food that's going crazy.
This has been my easiest postpartum recuperation by far -- it makes it so, so much better.
If you'd talked to me 3 days ago, I was a crying mess over something or other, but I'm having a really good day

It actually wasn't painful at all which surprised me. With my ODD it was painful at 4 weeks, but I also had significant tearing with her as well. I had none at all with this babe and feel fine down there.

I have done some nursing in the ring sling but it is far from ideal...I can't seem to figure out how to get him comfortably in a cradle position so I put him in a really low tummy-to-tummy which hurts my back.

It really made for a crappy couple of days and it slowed down my recovery for sure. Finally, in the past 4 days, I've felt normal again. I'm up and at 'em during the day (out of my bed) and doing my normal routine again. My bleeding was almost completely gone but since I've been more active it's picked up again. I'm hoping it dwindles and this is the last of it. My tiny tear has pretty much healed completely. I have quite a bit of energy despite the lack of sleep. My nipples are FINALLY healing. Latching on still feels soar but I'm no longer dreading nursing him. My emotions are stabling out a little and I'm not crying as much. I still have times when I go from 0 to 10 pretty quickly, but for the most part I'm feeling like I'm getting back to myself.
