I am posting this for my sister-in-law.
A little background:she has not had a period on her own in over 5 years. She has maintained an extremely rigid workout schedule (7 days a week for 2 hours per day). She also was eating the normal lowfat diet (diet drinks, low-fat milk, egg whites, etc)
Within the past year she has made a complete change in her diet. She has stopped with the diet drinks and started using butter, whole milk kefir, raw milk, coconut oil, baking her own bread, etc. She eats fish and wild game liberally.
She has cut back to working out 5 days per week for about an hour per day.
When she began eating the foods higher in fat, she lost 20 pounds and her body fat is now around 9%.
Does anyone know anyone with a similar background who has healed through nutrition? Are there any book or blog recommendations that might be helpful? Any nutritionist that could be recommended that would understand the importance of healing with whole nourishing foods?
She has been to a couple of ob-gyns and all they recommend are birth control pills to have a cycle.
any recommendations would be appreciated
