air travel at 32 weeks

Has anyone done this? I'm flying to Vegas next week. It's a very short flight, but I'd like to know what to expect.

The airline will let me fly without a Drs. note until 36 weeks, so I'm fine as far as bureaucracy goes, but I wonder if there's anything I can do to keep things comfortable and simple. My pregnancy has been super easy so far, and I'd like to keep it that way--and avoid the possibility of complications (although I don't really know what those would be).

I've flown and traveled lots with both of my pregnancies, but I don't know what air travel does to a very pregnant body! Is it much different? I'd love to hear your experiences.

For me, water and snacks were key (and maybe some electrolyte solution). I tend to get dehydrated on airplanes and more so when pregnant. And try to get a seat close to the bathroom if possible (so you don't get stuck by a drink cart somewhere).

Thank you! I'm loading up on fluids in preparation for it, and plan to bring some hydrating fruit (which won't be confiscated like liquids would) to eat while waiting.

My biggest concern at this point is that they'll look at me and insist I'm much more pregnant than I actually am, and too far along to fly

maybe get a drs note anyway, if you can, just to have proof that you are only 32 weeks pregnant. Hope you have fun!

I flew at that stage for a quick trip to NYC. I wore support hose to keep the swelling out and lessen the chances of leg cramps. The flight attendant looked at me as I was boarding the return flight home and questioned me sort of nicely about when my baby was coming. I replied Easter and let her do the math.

Stay hydrated and bring your own snacks.

And I would definitely agree with bringing a doctor's note as well as a copy of your OB record just in case something happens in Vegas.
