Moving to Long Island

Hi all,
I don't spend much time on MDC but I have loved it and the magazine since 2001 when my first son was born. There used to be a forum called "finding your tribe" or something like that and I've used it before to meet people. Now we're moving again and I'd love to find out if there are any MDC mamas out that way. And any suggestions anyone has for living in that area. We are moving from Switzerland and we've been out of the US for 5 yrs (and never lived in NY before). My boys, 9 and 5 yo, will be attending a Waldorf school in Garden City, NY. Anyone out there? Any suggestions for how to meet like-minded people in the area?
