Baby is vertex and need a name!

Okey doke, so baby has been breech until now, 37 weeks, but he/she is vertex and is now allowed to be born! But we don't have a name! Help please, oh great name guru's! I've enjoyed reading everyones suggestions for other Mamas, you all do wonderfully!

Parameters here... We don't know gender, we have a girl and boy already, named Avery and Isaac. We are leaning toward short two or three syllable names, mostly we prefer those that start with vowels. We prefer girl names that aren't super girly and go well with Avery, so things lean more toward unisex names. We have middle names we would like to use, Rose (F) and James (M), but they aren't set in stone. Hmm... what else? Oh, I'm Scottish, my dad was born and raised there, so Celtic names have a strong appeal for me.

Many thanks for helping out this very preggo mom!

Unisex Baby Names

Although you are already using my favorite unisex name, Avery.

We seem to have the same parameters with names! We are considering Avery for this baby if it's a girl, and River James for a boy. Anyhoo - our DD's name might work for you, she is Riley Ann. Riley Rose would be cute

Also, check this name finder out - I love it because you can specify what you want a name to start or end with, if you want it to sound Celtic, etc.

I once taught a girl called Atlin, and now know a 5 year old boy called Atlin. It's very uncommon, yet not made-up sounding.

how about Roan for a boy or girl.....

Take thee to Nameberry:

http://nameberry.com/

There are lost of good lists and discussion boards with people who seem to be pretty into the whole name thing. I got some good input there this week.

In the meantime, I have been rather liking Tavish for a boy...Tavish James...not bad...good luck!!

You sound like us! We like vowel names, 2 or 3 syllables, too. Here is our short list...

Emmeline
Adelaide
Harper
Hazel

Elliot
Emerson
Ezra
Oliver
Anderson
Asher

Hope that helps!

My boys fit your criteria: Ian, Connor, and Gavin. In fact, my Ian has the middle name James even! Liam is another name I like, but sounds too similar to Ian. Ronan (or Ronin) was one that I liked a lot, but hubby didn't.

Girls...I had a girl name for each of my boys: Riley, Alanna, and Evelyn.

I think any of those names go really well with Avery and Isaac! Alanna and Evelyn might be more feminine than you prefer, but Riley is fairly unisex, although not a vowel.

Great ideas everyone! Thanks and keep 'em coming

I forgot to add our last name is two syllables and ends in -er. Most -er names (like Harper, which we love) sound very sing-songy, it's too rhymey. Some are ruled out- Ian and Fiona are my siblings, my SIL is likely using Evelyn for their babe due 4 days after us, we have close family friend with a DD (and another with a DS) named Riley. Others DH or I have vetoed- like DH has vetoed Emmeline and Hazel and I've actually vetoed Roan/Rowan.

You've hit on some we have short-listed- like Emery, Emmeline, Adelaide, Emerson (but for a girl) and Elliot, Liam and Emmett for a boy.

I love nameberry.com, I've spent a fair amount of time over there reading lists. We recently found Eleri (Ellery had been on the list) but apparently the traditional Welsh spelling is Eleri. We don't like made up spellings or names, I'm just a little concerned that Eleri looks made up?

Thanks! I appreciate the help! Keep 'em coming, I had a strong bout of contractions last night and thought, but we aren't even close to having a name!!!

I know it doesnt start with a vowel but Ive always been told my name is a celtic name and well I dont consider it unisex but I was named after a male friend of my parents. I am Kerri, it is unique in the way that most others spell it Carrie or Kerry or Karrie. I have only once ever met another Kerri who spells it the same way. Good Luck!

edit: just realized your signature youre a Carrie, my bad!
