Cravings!

My new favorite food is giardiniera (spicy pickled vegetables). What are you craving? I ate A LOT of sour stuff when I was pregnant with DS, like iceberg lettuce with plain vinegar on it, so I'm thinking BOY. We'll see

Olives and Italian food...I need to live close to a Italian restaurant that has a drive through window....because it takes every last bit of energy to take my 2 year old out of the house.

Salt.

Mine is more in the way of aversions right now. Everything is nasty except fruit, crackers and cheese and I've been wanting cheerios. Go figure.

Beef sounds really good. Also scrambled eggs, which is good because I was just getting sick of them before getting pregnant and our hens just started laying!

Anything sweet sounds disgusting to me, which is pretty usual. Kefir and yogurt are both sounding good to me...

Peaches, english muffins with cream cheese, and PASTA! I'm also enjoying almost any kind of home cooking. DH brought home some stuff from a soul food restaurant the other day and it was delicious

No desire for eggs, meat, or anything sweet at all.

Cheese. The processed deli singles type. wtf? Maybe it is easier to digest than natural cheese? I dunno.

I'm with Stayseeliz - most things I'm finding revolting, especially meat and sweet things. DH has an interesting theory about the meat: When our great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandmothers were pregnant, meat was a common source of harmful bacteria, so evolutionarily speaking, some of us may be instinctually averse to things that could potentially make us or our LOs sick.

Anyway, he's doing the grocery shopping, because I'd come home with nothing. I just walk the aisles and go, "Yuck. No. Ew. Bleck."

Interesting theory on the meat. I've been feeling guilty since I'm not eating much meat right now. My protein has come from cottage cheese, cheese and peanut butter. I'm thinking about doing some whey protein to get some more protein in. My muscles are going to whither away.

Lately I've been craving OJ. Who knows why, but it's a good choice.

French fries... which is weird because I've never experienced pregnancy cravings before, especially in the first tri when usually everything sounds gross. I think it's really the salt that I'm craving.

In my last pregnancies, I had horrible aversions to meat - with DD, I could cook it, or eat it, but not both, and eating it was a tossup... with the middle m/c, I couldn't eat, cook or even think about it.

So it's weird to me that right now I'm craving protein/meat/cheese like it's going out of style! However, traditionally, m/s doesn't start until 5wks for me, so I have a few days before I'm not liking meat I guess!

Yeah I'm having the meat aversion too. DH made dinner last night: chicken, mashed potatoes, cauliflower. All I ate was a big pile of mashed potatoes. He's like "That's not healthy" so I gave him a death look. Who the heck cares. I'm newly pregnant and feeling sick. I'll eat healthy again in about 7 weeks. I gained a lot in my last 2 pregnancies but never in the beginning because even though I'm eating a lot of carbs I'm not eating a large quantity of food.

I've lost like two lbs in the last couple of weeks because I'm eating such small portions. Not that I can't stand to lose it though.

DH made pancakes for dinner last night. They were so good! He made the whole grain Krusteaz brand. I started to feel sick afterward though and had to lay on the couch for a bit. I didn't want to get sick and have an aversion to pancakes for the next few weeks!

Plain frozen yogurt that's TANGY. Pinkberry, Yoforia, any of those places. No toppings, just tang.

And greek yogurt! Though I'm preferring the frozen since it's so hot!

I normally don't have cravings in pregnancy, just aversions. Both times I've had mild meat aversions and severe aversions to anything green in the first tri. This time I haven't noticed any severe aversions, but I'm not even 5 weeks yet so there's plenty of time

Before being pg I was eating a raw vegan diet. About two weeks ago (right after conception) I out of the blue was less interested in it, and by 1 ago I abandoned the raw part. I find that interesting given my tendency to avoid vegetation in the first trimester.

Cinnamon!!!
Seriously, I haven't even thought about cinnamon toast since I was preggo with DD, but yesterday out of the blue, I needed cinnamon toast right.that.moment!!
I'm about to go throw some ingredients in the breadmaker for some cinnamon roll dough
I have been snacking on homemade popcorn with cinnamon sprinkled on it as well.

Now I want some cinnamon toast. I haven't had that since I was 16. Mmmm. Other cravings have been mac-n-cheese because another thread on here kept talking about it, mashed potatoes, and root beer... the good kind made from all natural stuff, not the processed high fructose corn syrup stuff. With my dd, I was craving lemonade and lemon pie. Weird how things change so much.

The past few days i'm liking potatoes and cream of wheat....no desire to eat meat though.
My poor husband left the house at 10pm the other night in search of flautas for me and returned an hour later with what i asked for along with roses....bless his heart..how adorable of him.
Thank goodness he understand....i just cant cook right now.
I have no desire to go to the grocery store.
Today we had dominoes deliver to the house...
I just want to feel normal
This is not fun at all

PROTEIN!!!!!!! I seriously barely eat much meat normally, but I have HAD to have meat, cheese, cottage cheese, peanut butter, all of it.

Now I want cinnamon toast though, that sounds yummy!
