Cravings! - Page 2

Ooooo. Cinnamon toast DOES sound good.

I need to find some not meat sources of protein. I'm eating way less protein than normal. I did have chicken salad with grapes and pecans today. YUM!!

Like every other pregnancy: chocolate milk!! All that I can get my hands on! I go through about a gallon every 4 days just by myself... Lol. I switched to skim during pregnancy with ds. I figure I have to have skim if I'm gonna jazz it up with all that chocolate! Lol. Also chips and salsa have been big this week. Btw, I know this isn't the right thread for this, but does anyone else feel like they must've gotten a fresh batch of hormones this week? I feel like a crazy person... And my husband can attest to that. God bless him and what I've put him through the last few days... Bring on more chocolate milk to get me back to that happy place! Lol.

Ugh, NOTHING! Nothing at all sounds good right now, especially heavy foods like stews, which I tend to make a lot because they're quick and easy. I'm doing ok with salads. No yogurt, sandwiches, potatoes, smoothies, etc. Anything remotely heavy. I guess it's a good thing because I'm stuck with salads and stir-fried veggies, so I'm forced to eat healthy. Right now I'm snacking on Just Fruit Munchies, which is a freeze-dried fruit mix and is sooooo tasty.

I don't either. Which is really strange because I like to coupon shop and have fun saving money (can't beat .09 cans of organic tomatoes ). I'm also planning on squirreling away food shopping money to pay for a doula so its helpful I don't want to shop. We'll only really need milk, eggs, and fresh stuff anyway. I have a stocked freezer...

I find that what I'm craving comes and goes. Last week I wanted sweet potato fries all the time. I must have needed vitamin a. This week I want protein and granny smith apples!

I gained a lot in my last 2 pregnancies but never in the beginning because even though I'm eating a lot of carbs I'm not eating a large quantity of food.
I could have written this. Meat yuck. Dh made roast, mashed potatoes and broc and I ate pot and broc and it was sooo yummy!

My craving is sushi, which is what I did right after I had my ds. I keep forgetting to take my prenatals.

Right this second I'm enjoying a chocolate carnation breakfast drink(the powder kind you mix with milk) which is fantastic bc it has 2X the protein of an egg, and you don't get much protein out of carbs, which is all I seem to be getting down these days.

I'm with Morwenna, I've been craving beef. Had hamburgers on the weekend and beef stew this week, so now I'm over that craving for now. No aversions so far, but I don't have much appetite for sweets, which is odd for me.

Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips. Soooo good! I just have one of those little bags and I want more. My mw said drink lemonade and eat potato chips for morning sickness. So I ran into a convenience store on the way home. Lemonade was too sickening sweet. I need to make my own. But the chips were perfect. Need more!

I will regret what I just ate, but at the moment it was worth it and I don't feel queezy right now so it's full of win. I just had no bean wolf brand chili and ranch dip mixed together with tortilla chips. Oh my gosh. I am great right now. Great I tell ya!

For Lun ch I had those kettle type chips from corner street bakery and I thought I was going to scream they were so friggin good. Then we went to lubys for dinner and I had fried fish(I know horrible, but that's all I eat when I go there and it was just a half piece), green beans, and Mac and cheese. I ate almost ALL of it y'all! Yay! Go me!!!

I'm just going to make this my food journal. Is that ok?

Very interesting...because I'm craving carrots!!

Mainly fresh veggies and protein here. Sweets are a virtual no-no.

salty and/or sour

I started out craving super spicy pizza...the guys at the local pizza spot knew me by my car it got so bad. I was also putting crushed red peppers and hot sauce on everything but now I've pretty much been craving anything salty and/or sour. I loooove real lime slushies from sonic! For meals I've been sticking to sandwiches from Atlanta Bread Co. or my DH breaks out the panini press and we make them at home. I've not been able to eat anything heavy lately.

With my last one I couldn't eat anything with a skin on it (like grapes, apples, etc) so I think I must have some bad emotional linkage to all of it still because I won't go near anything with a skin or iceberg lettuce blah!

Cheesecake sounds good right now...random, I know!

I haven't really been having cravings - mostly aversions - although yesterday I kept seeing a pizza commercial and I thought I would DIE without that pizza. But I really like pizza, so that's not unusual.

But now...tuna! I really don't ever eat tuna. I'll sometimes have it in something like a casserole, very occasionally, but maybe twice a year I'll have a tuna sandwich. When I was pregnant with DD, I discovered this place down the road from my office that made baked potatoes with a tuna-mayo topping (sounds gross, but is SO good). I ate one of those a week through my whole pregnancy, and I would've eaten one every DAY if I hadn't been so wary about the chemicals in tuna.

So yesterday, while looking around for something to eat, I found myself in the mood for tuna on toast. Today, I grabbed the leftover little bit of tuna & mayo out of the fridge and devoured it on crackers. It was DELICIOUS.

Yesterday I ate so many salt & vinegar chips that it felt like I burned a layer of tissue off the inside of my entire mouth!!

Today, I ate an entire cantaloupe

Can you tell I'm having portion control issues

Today I wanted oatmeal and I figured I needed some protein with that. I tried to force myself to eat scrambled eggs. They are my "no-no" food right now. I could only get half of them down then I just sat there staring at the plate. That didn't go well. The oatmeal was good though.

I was craving anything salty...especially everything bagels but now I keep thinking about crumb top apple pie....

I've fallen hard for baked potatoes with sour cream... yum! I just keep telling myself that at least I'm not wanting chocolate all of the time like I did with DD, but by the time I mound on the toppings and eat two of them a day, I'm not sure this is much better

I called DH at 9 am and said "we HAVE to go to olive garden for lunch." soup, salad and breadsticks!! oh yeah. I'm getting the alfredo sauce to dip the breadsticks in, too. mmmmmmmmm..... of course probably I'll eat then feel icky and not be able to eat it again for who knows how long.

I'm with you guys on the salt and vinegar potato chip thing- they just taste so good right now.

Thanks for the heads up on the carnation instant breakfast. I'm totally gonna do that. I really need a way to boost my protein during the day. I'm definitely not getting enough.

I have been craving hot wings from, of all places, a movie theater about a half hour from my house. I'm going there tomorrow.

I have alsoe been eating tons of starches, mashed potatoes are a big favorite. And chips are my weakness non-preggo so I indulge in that now too.

ooooh yeah.... (Fun thread BTW!)

Green Olives. Usually I don't really like them, and prefer their sweeter black olive siblings...but I can't stop eating huge, green olives-even better if paired with a nectarine or a peach. (?)

I also can't get enough of goat cheese. I usually like it, but this is insane.

oooh....and DILL. I've been taking fresh dill, chopping it up and adding it to full fat natural yogurt, and slicing cucumbers into wheels and dipping it in the dill "dip"...seriously I could live on the stuff!

The other day, I was working at my computer and had hagendaaz (spelling?) 1/2 the fat dulce de leche ice cream on one side of my computer, and a bowl of green olives on the other. It was at that moment I knew for sure, in spite of the lack of convincing symptoms...that I was very much pregnant.
