I just took the 1 hour glucose test that screens for GD and I failed miserably (my score was 196, just four points below the level where they automatically DX you with GD).
Has anyone else had a screen that was as high as 196 but still tested negative for GD??
I'm wondering if my eating the day of had something to do with that high score. My appt wasn't until 2 pm, so I drank the glucola at 1 pm as instructed. Now, they told me not to fast, so I didn't. I avoided carbs and had just eggs for breakfast and a handful of nuts. But then by 12, I was starving and had a very small green salad with lots of onions and tomatoes, with a little tiny bit of Italian dressing. Also had a stick of gum (sugar free) and lots of water.
I've 'failed' the screener before but then passed the actual test with my first baby. Didn't have an issue with my 2nd or 3rd. Now it's my fourth and I'm older, fatter, etc. and really hoping I don't have GD.
Any words of wisdom from your experiences?
