movies for a 2 year old

I feel like watching a movie and making popcorn with my 28 month old on this stormy evening - except not sure what to watch. We have netflix, so I can stream something. He like cars, trucks, trains, and animals, but I kind of want to watch a "movie", not just a 20 minute segment on trains...

I own Toy Story, but he wasn't interested in that a few months back.

Any ideas? For tonight, or in the future

My 22 m/o loved Elmo in Grouchland. She's in love with Sesame Street though. We haven't watched nay other movies, but if I watch a show or something with her 50 minutes is usually the limit.

My DS's first real movie that held his attention was Wall-E, which used to be streaming. He adored it, and still does. It's helpful that it's visual, not a lot of talking.
The next favorite was Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. It's bright and very very silly.

I was going to recommend both of these movies. I wouldn't expect any movie to hold the attention of a 2 year old for the full 2 hours, though, so make sure it's a movie you will enjoy, too.

Tinkerbell was a hit here. Not scary at all, very low key for young toddlers.

I tend to go for older movies to avoid the advertising extravaganza. I'm 37 weeks pregnant so we've been watching way more movies lately than I would otherwise. Follow that Bird -- an old Sesame Street movie -- has been a big hit. I got it on iTunes. She also keeps requesting the Wind in the Willows, but she never has the attention span to sit through the whole thing.

Thanks everyone! I ended up finding A Bug's Life in our DVD stash, he lasted about 15 minutes Which is okay, I guess, it's not like I want him glued to the tv. I will look into those other ones...he is a fan of Elmo's World - so maybe some of the Sesame Street movies would be good.

I was going to say either Kipper or Little Bear. I am hoping to introduce my twins (19mos) to Kipper some day. I think it's a cute show! Little Bear is cute too.

I added both Wind in the Willows and Follow that Bird in my queue on Netflix! Thanks for the suggestions! I think my almost 5yr old will like both.

My DD loves Ice Age and Up. She has seen them both a bazillion times. She also likes Wallace and Grommit and the Were-Rabbit. Kinda weird I know.

She loves mild peril. She plays with her hands and goes "Oh NO mommy!" and then she gets all happy and excited when they turn out ok.

Madagascar - You can point out the different animals
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - Visually stunning and cute
Bee Movie, Over the Hedge - Great graphics and you can pointout animals and discuss what they do and the sounds they make

We love Cars here too!

For that age, I really would stick with the shorter features 'cause the attention span isn't that long. Our go-to's were the for original Disney Pooh shorts.

Nemo was a hit over here.
