Short, graphic non-waterbirth birth video to show dd?

Dd is only 2 but I know she will not want to be separated from me when I give birth. I need some short HB videos that show some real audio/noise/groaning, maybe some blood, basically realistic that I can show her to prep her for what I am doing. Not waterbirth b/c we're not doing that and that obscures what actually happens. (I prefer hands and knees so if she is there, she is likely to see a lot.) And not a nice slideshow with pretty music, either.

I would get her "Welcome with Love", which shows a homebirth with the baby coming out (pretty sure hands & knees). Then I would do practice labors with her. Personally I think showing a video won't help much, because your labor will not look like anyone else's labor. But you know how YOU labor, and I do this with my daughter, because I want birth & labor to be a normal thing in her mind, whether I ever have another one or not (and I'm a doula so she's curious about what I do). I make labor sounds and do pretend contractions, and talk about what labor is like, and then how I would be when the baby comes, and then the placenta, and how she may feel, and that it's nothing to be scared of. Remember she's 2, a video might very well frighten her, and to your best efforts, your own labor when it happens might frighten her no matter how you prepare her, and that's normal, especially for a 2 year old. Good luck!

oh back to your actual question lol...don't know of any videos, youtube has a ton though.

There are a ton on youtube.

Mine is a waterbirth but there is no obscurity. The pictures are very clear what is happening. I could just as easily be on hands and knees for pushing and propped up/squatting for crowining. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZOpQuyjiCk

This isn't my video, but was posted by a mama here at one point. It's a fantastic home birth video (although the video starts as the baby's head is out, it's still awesome). The link to the video is about 1/4 way down her blog post (where it reads that the password is "cheddar bunnies").

If you don't mind spending $40, Homebirth Rites is an awesome DVD with three births, one is exactly what you were describing. You can find it at homebirthrites.com Best of luck to you!!

Here are two from YouTube that I've seen recently. First one is not too graphic, but shows hands and knees position and has audio.

Second one is very graphic and up-close. Althought it might be almost too close for a two-year-old to get much perspective on what she's actually looking at.

Ran across a really great one the other day on youtube that I watched with my 2 1/2 yo son. It is graphic, and a great example of some of the sounds a mommy makes in birth. It also has the mother's older daughter there in the mix, feeling calm and helping mommy.

I can't seem to find it online with a quick google search but my almost 3 year old loves "A Sister for Hugo." It's about 20 minutes, shows labor, the birth, and the time immediately after the birth. The mom is hands and knees and it's all very gentle. I got it at my midwife's office. It's an older movie made in New Zealand and it's been great.
