She's Here!

Sarah Grace entered the world covered in more vernix than I have ever seen (http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...dal/vernix.jpg), and screaming her lungs out on Wednesday August 18th, 2010 at 8:54pm weighing 7lb6oz, and 19.25 inches long after 45 minutes of pushing.

We're home from the hospital and all doing well. I will write up a birth story soon

Edited to add a pic I cropped to show her vernix... it was amazing to hubby and I, even the nurses and doc commented on it. I had to edit the pic since the wonderful nurse there took a ton of pics of her being born and there was an awful lot of me in them

Congratulations!

Esther was covered in so much vernex when she was born! Before she was born I asked the pediatrician at her delivery to try to rub it in instead of off... once she came and we saw how much she had we all laughed and said there was no need to worry!

Congrats and welcome Sarah Grace, what a beautiful name!

And wow on all that vernix! DS had almost none at all.

Looking forward to that birth story whenever you get a chance.

The vernix looks just like my Annabelle! I was completely covered in it too after holding her for a while.

Wow! I've never seen that before. My DD1 was completely covered in her own poop, but neither had much vernix.
