I think really getting the hang of a routine is a process. It's building a new habit. The more times you do it, the easier it gets. As it get's easier, you do it more. It's an upward spiral.

I also don't think you need to make the routine longer. As you become more consistent with it, it will work better. If you keep changing it and complicating it, you take away consistency and make it less effective.

the longer routine has helped - more to get things going to bed sooner. instead of lallygagging around, the boys look to see whats next on the chart & it working really well
