Late cycle spotting.

I have a question for you ladies. I just finished my first cycle where I have been charting (though the temping fell off in late cycle d.t. travel. It is also my second cycle in a row where I have had 3 days of light spotting and then a gap of a day or 2 and then AF. In this cycle we are talking 9-11 DPO. AF on 14 DPO. This is new for me and seems to be timed wrong for the normal bleeding sources. Does anyone have experience with something like this. Is this something I should talk to someone about?

I had the same thing happen last month - spotting for a few days following by nothing, and then AF. I'm not sure what it was or what caused it. I was just going to wait until my regular checkup in a couple of months to ask my doctor about it, unless it happens again. Sorry I don't have any more insight or explanation! Good luck!

Spotting at that time can be a sign of a luteal phase defect. I have the same thing and it is caused by my body not making enough progesterone; this month I have started using a natural progesterone cream so we'll see if that helps. You HAVE to make enough progesterone for your body to conceive and to maintain a pregnancy, so finding out if you have a deficiency now instead of latter is good!

Thanks for the responses. I have an OB appt coming up so I hope they don't think I'm nutty.
