I'm loving this! I'm so glad I posted this thread

I am really trying to use affirmations to keep myself in the right head space: "My body knows when and how to birth a baby." "Labor will begin when my body and my baby are ready." "I am whole and NOT broken." That kind of thing. My doula and I even have my DH trained to say, "Well, when he comes on his own..."
We WILL birth these babes!!!

I'm doing that too...well not affirmations exactly (although maybe I should start!) but I'm having these little conversations with myself like "HELLO, there is nothing wrong with you. You will go into labor just like everyone else. Your body conceived a child and grew it just like it is supposed to, of course it will birth it just like it is meant to do".
My MW said it's really common for VBAC women or women who were induced/augmented to have a "sticking point" wherever they were when they had their cesarean/augmentation. So if you got "stuck" at 6cm, then you would theoretically have a wall at 6cm or at least have a hard time picturing yourself past that point. For me, it's going into labor. Makes sense. It's funny how I "know" all this (as a doula/former MW student) but it's totally and completely different when it's happening to ME. Like everything I know/believe goes right out the window lol.
