Stinky man

Men are stinky. I was successful in getting him to quit wearing cologne in the first tri when I had to tell him it contributed to my nausea. Now? He doesn't shower every day, which is fine...but I can smell sleep on him, and it's gross.

I don't know how to talk to him about...stinking.

Funking up the bathroom is a whole different fight/discussion. I won't have spray air sanitizers in the house, but...is funk better than a few airborne chemicals?

Oh no! I'm so sorry! That's horrible...stink makes me very irritable, particularly when I'm pregnant, so...bleh.

I'm married to the world's most hygienic man..he showers a LOT, uses a "body polisher" (man loofah) with body scrub, uses face scrub in the am and a face bar at night, is an obsessive hand washer, and generally just makes me happy with his smell.

HOWEVER...I have boys. Yeah...even though they come equipped with "hoses", they still manage to splash pee on the underside of the toilet rim..and even other parts. I am SO anal about clean bathrooms, and it's even worse now that I'm pregnant and totally nesting. So, I'm in there all the time with a peri bottle (one I use just for cleaning) full of cleaning mixture, hosing down all the parts of the toilet, so I don't heave when I have to sit there and smell pee!

Maybe you could make it about intimacy with your DH...something like, "I'd really love to...x,y,z with you when you are all clean and showered...maybe we could even shower together" Sex seems to be a great way to encourage about anything, so, LOL!

Sorry again, and hope it improves for you!

Sorry! I totally know how you feel. Smells, especially chemical smells, bothered me enough when I wasn't pregnant but now they're downright unbearable!

As for how to talk to him about his smell, sorry I don't have very good advice. I just tell my DH "you're smelly" when he's getting a bit funky

ugh, I can't stand sweat smell. And we have had the worst summer with the worst high heat ever. My Dh would come home about a 30 minute ride from work and I would dry heave and run upstairs until he took a shower. Sweat smell always bothers me even not pregnant. And only men seem to carry that sweat smell. i don't notice it on women, or else they shower more or something. I used to work as a waitress and men working outside would come in for lunch and I would gag trying to wait on them.

And perfume - The other day his mom came to visit and I said no perfume. Man she piled it on - older women wear way too much as it is, and she must have had double that. I started puking badly and she had to sit far away from me when we took her out to dinner. I don't even smell a scent, like flowers, but just strong chemical harshness.

I struggled with this my first trimester too. He didn't stink, but for some reason I just couldn't stand his smell. I know exactly what you mean by the sleep smell...made my stomach churn. It did pass for me and I hope it does for you too.
