I've used a very similar recipe in a pinch and it seems to work well. Thanks for sharing!

We've used that same recipe for a year or so and it has worked great for us! I keep a box of borax and a box of baking soda under the kitchen sink, each with it's own scooper and they seem to last forever. And the white vinegar really does a great job also.

Do you really need to use one cup of each? That seems like a lot.

I believe you would use whatever is needed to fill your detergent cup to the appropriate level per washload.

Oops, sorry, thanks for pointing out my omission: You just use 2 tbsps per load, or less if it still cleans well. We recently got a Bosch dishwasher that uses 1/4 the amt of soap recommended by soap company, so you probably have to tweak the amt to fit your washer.
