Period late; Negative pregnancy test; What's going on?

I have very regular 26-28 day periods. I'm on day 31 and the pregnancy test was negative. We practice sympto-method NFP (i.e. I don't take my temp) and are conservative with what we consider infertile times and were not TTC. So, any ideas what could be causing this? In the last week I started taking a lot of supplements: a multi and various aminos + iodine based on The Mood Cure recs. Would the extended luteal phase be a good sign that my body is healing or is that too soon?

And, if I am pregnant (and the tests aren't always accurate IMO) are the aminos safe to continue taking. I didn't take them today because I was worried about it and yet I doubt they would be counter-indicated.

TIA!

Are you sure of when you ovulated if you don't take your temps do you know if you actually O when you think you did. The luteal phase is said to be about 12-16days long. I do take my temp and when my period didn't came my the 16/17th of the luteal phase I took a test and I was pregnant.

I have had my period delayed for about 2 weeks because of being sick. And recently one of my friends who also have very regular period was also delayed
after taking a week vacation so maybe there is something that happened that could have delayed O.

Hope AF comes soon for you if that is what you want. Not sure about what aminos could do. I guess that is something to research.

Well, the Billings Method doesn't require temps, just mucous. Back b/f baby when I took temps my luteal phase was always 12 days or shorter. This has continued to be the pattern post pregnancy based on the Peak Day + 4 rule, which is what we use for start of Phase III. My longest cycle pre-baby was 29 days and I haven't had one over 28 post-baby. I've had some very short cycles, but never long ones In fact, the only time in my life I've ever missed a period is when I got pregnant and we were TTC that time. TMI, sorry, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that I've gone through some serious illnesses, stressful and even traumatic times, bad diet, etc without it affecting my cycle at all. That's why it's bothering me I guess now because I'm 27 and this has never happened.

We would definitely welcome a baby if one was on the way , though it would be a little scary because we've still got bills from Ladybug's birth two years ago, have no maternity coverage and don't qualify for the state plan (which is why we were trying to avoid in the first place).
