Help! I think my 20 month old has cavities!

Thread Starter
I noticed discoloration on some of my toddler's teeth a few days back, and I am sad to say that I am pretty sure they are cavities or the start of cavities. I read the other thread about reversing tooth decay in toddlers, and I am planning to follow some of those recommendations. We immediately cut "offending foods" out of our diet.

I am looking for a pediatric dentist now. When we find one, what can we expect? I prefer a natural kind of dentist who has more tricks up their sleeve than drilling and filling alone, but I doubt we will be able to find one here (Eastern Europe). Do you have any tips on how to deal with this situation? What can we expect? What are the reasonable options if it does turn out my lil guy has cavities?

Good for you to cut out what is not working!

I would consider chatting with these folks to find a more holistic dentist in your area. Pediatric dentists (in my experience) tend to have more traditional methods of restoring teeth. My former boss was apart of this association and it leans toward holistic health.

Most DDS's use composite that contains BPA's, estrogen, the list goes on, however there are alternatives for composites. One I remember is a material called Grandio. Europe (in my reading) seems to more progressive in holistic dentistry (ie: metals, mercury, toxins) very positive!

Good luck to you!
