Anyone rent a doppler from storkradio?

I decided today to rent a doppler for 1 month because I'm just so stressed/anxious about not feeling the baby move yet. It was just $25 for the month, so I figured why not (beats anxiety attacks).

Anyways, I just got my confirm and they send me a form I need to have my MW fill out saying she approves this? WTH?

I didn't "ask permission" from her as to whether or not I could rent one, and I didn't read anything on the site saying I needed a prescription or prior approval. I already paid, so does this mean they won't send out the unit until I fax this form to them?

Email them back, explain that you were not aware you needed the MW approval, and ask for your money back.

Well I'm wondering if anyone has ordered from them, not faxed over the persmission slip and still received the doppler? I mean, I can certainly get my MW to sign this but I kind of don't need her to know and feel like it's my own business KWIM?

I can buy one on ebay without it, I just wanted to use it for a few weeks because I don't really need to get obsessed with the thing...so renting made sense.

I have a medical grade one I got on ebay, but I think they sell fairly cheap ones at babies r us if that works.

I rented from them when pregnant with DS. I noticed this requirement, but I never sent that form in and I still received my doppler. I had it for 3 months and was double charged every single month during that time, though. I would never, ever rent from them again. They refunded my money immediately after I threatened to cancel my card and keep the doppler until I was reimbursed b/c they were in no rush before. If they mail it out to you, just be sure to watch your bank statement and make sure they don't overcharge you.

Ugh, oh great.
I'm going to try to have them cancel it since I refuse to have my MW think I'm any more neurotic than she already does. I did notice that it took me a long time to check out because for whatever reason my cart had an extra 3 month rental in there, even though I didn't add it. I literally had to order the 1 month rental from my dh's laptop because I couldn't get rid of it.

Honestly, that is what I would suggest. And still keep an eye on your bank statement to make sure you are fully reimbursed if they have already charged you. Dealing with this company was such a headache. I've heard good things about babybeats.com (I think that's the name?). I got a doppler type thing off amazon for like 25 bucks. I think it's actually more like a microphone...I don't use it anymore now that I can feel baby move, but it was amazing for that inbetween time when we had heard a hb with mw but I hadn't yet felt movement. It is called angel sounds and it got pretty good reviews. I, personally, really liked it.

Michelle, I rented from dynamic doppler and have had no problems and they are nice to deal with. I pay $22 a month.

Thanks ladies. I did write them last night and asked them to cancel the order and told them I would be unable to get a Doctor's note or whatever and to not charge my card. At least I put it on the credit card, which I do for everything now online since it's often easier to put it on hold and do charge backs when you are a victim of fraud.

I haven't heard back yet but hopefully I will today.
I've never heard of dynamic doppler, I'll check them out.
Thanks!
