TF with dairy and egg allergies?

My daughter is 2 and among her myriad of food allergies are dairy (goat and cow) and egg. She has only been weaned from BM a couple of months and we have given her coconut milk and coconut oil as her main milk/butter substitutes along the way. We are not actually eating TF yet, but I have gradually moved further and further from processed foods and toward TF type foods (although the fat chapter is really making me think hard about everything I thought I knew about fats). We currently avoid artificial ingredients almost entirely the rest of us are consuming raw dairy.

I guess my main concern is with all the TF emphasis on butterfat, will my recently weaned 2 yo do ok on coconut milk/oil. She eats beef and poultry, but the allergist doesn't want her to eat any seafood until she proves to be waning in the other allergies. She also is to avoid peanuts/treenuts for the same reason, but seeds are ok.

The nutritional content of coconut oil is similar to milkfat -- particularly in the large amounts of saturated fat both possess. It's of course not identical, but similar. Consider trying lard as well, which is also high in saturated fat and, being an animal fat, is a little more similar in composition to butter, though still not identical, due to its lower content of water and milk solids. If you want the effects of milkfat, an animal fat like lard is probably your closest equivalent.

Good luck to you and your family!
