DD2 was at my in laws today and opened the bread drawer by herself, got a piece of bread ( the end part of a french loaf that was already cut) and ate quite a bit of it but nobody is really sure how much. It turns out that the bread was moldy. My son who is 14 ate half a slice. How badly could they get sick?

Good to know thank you! It's my son's first day in high school tomorrow... I just didn't want him to spend it sick in a bathroom

eh. don't worry.

I figure if it wasn't foul-tasting, then it's ok. I eat half-moldy bread/cheese/jarred sauce/etc all the tiime ... cut around the bad parts! But the spores are ALL over the bread, so cutting the green off is just cosmetic ... I've never been sick from it.

I think green mould is fine, but black mould can make you ill. So as long as there was no black mould, they should be fine.

Totally fine. My grandma used to say that a little bit of green mold was good for you http://www.articlesbase.com/health-a...ld-542362.html

It wasn't green mold, it was white with small black spots. Luckily, neither of them got sick!

I once accidentally ate slices of bread from a loaf that was over a year old (no mold that I saw). As an emetaphobic, boy did I freak out! Nothing happened though, I was fine.

Over a year old and you could still chew it!? Man, you've got jaws of steel!
