how to cosleep with newborn? positioners etc?

I coslept with dd who i now 3. When she stopped night nursing around 2 dh started sleeping with her.

When she was a newborn she had bad reflux and i was not ap yet and was terrified of cosleeping. Sometimes i would nurse her and fall asleep with her in my bed and wakeup feeling like the worst mom even though we both slept way better and it felt mroe natural

Anyway she had the nest thing, slept in a boppy, had a boppy chair that I put on the bed with me for a while then she moved to a swing right next to my bed.. and eventually I just lay her in bed with me when she sort of grew out of the reflux. i was scared earlier that she would be laying flat and choke on her spit up so i wanted her slanted.

So now we are having ds in dec. (dd born in july)

We have a full size bed with organic mattress and bedding all ready for me to cosleep with him. But I am getting worried about how exactly to do it. In the winter especially. i am still worried about spitting up laying down flat on back, this happened to dd when she was a day old and she had to be suctioned out and turned blue and stopped breathing.

We have an amby swing but I just discovered the recall so we wont be using that

we have a wool nursing pillow that i am most leaning towards using on the bed next to me (wall, between the wall and me so he wont fall off or anything)

and then we have a bugaboo with bassinet that i got a wool mattress for that i was thinking he would be in for naps and daytime when he is not strapped for me in a moby.

Anyway what do you do with newborns? Especially in the winter with lots of covers etc. I have sleep sacks and warm woolies to sleep him in so i guess he can do without covers and i guess i can try to keep mine away from him?

My kids never used sleep positioners or anything like that. They mostly slept on their backs or sides, against my body at breast level or a bit higher. I used to just keep the room a tiny bit warmer, in the winter, and dress myself and them warmly. I used blankets, but kept them down at my waist and hip level, and I used a thin pillow that was kept away from baby. I kept some cloth diapers underneath baby, to catch any spit up that came. I never worried much about choking-- I was so aware of everything they did, that I could see clearly that I'd wake in an instant if anything was not right.
