What to do about a cough?

I came down with a cold last week and have since developed a nasty cough. Is there anything I can do about it? I've been drinking tea, but that doesn't seem to help.

Wish you were feeling bettter! I had a cough for about 3 weeks (quit smoking at the beginning of my pregnancy, so I figured it was the clean out. But then I caught a cold) I was really miserable for a couple weeks .

Hot lemon water with honey will help sooth a scratchy throat, and I kept a glass of ice water with me at all times. Now I just have a little tiny cough, and I have been drinking orange and apple juice when my throat gets that tingle. The juice helps coat my throat.

I'm sure there is something you can take... talk to your HCP. I just didn't, because I really don't want anything that my body absolutely does not need getting in to my baby. I was very miserable though.

Tylenol Cold AM or get the PM or get both. Just make sure it doesn't say "multisymptom" on it. Those types are no-no's.

I think I had the same cold ... sore throat, nasty full-blown cold for a couple of days, and now a cough that's been hanging on for a week.

I'm taking 2000mg of vitamin C each day on top of whatever vitamins I normally take, drinking TONS of water--like 2 gallons per day, drinking lemon tea with lots of honey, and gargling with a little Listerine mixed with hydrogen peroxide whenever my throat feels itchy.

The cough is gradually getting better, but I don't know if that's due to anything I have been doing or not.
