Possible Chicken Pox Exposure

I hope this is the right place for this question. If not, I hope the mods will move it. Apologies if it is the wrong forum.

My daycare provider's 8 month old baby may have chicken pox. She is headed to the doctor now to find out. If she does, I want to expose my 2 year old, since we don't plan on using the chicken pox vax.

My question is: how exactly to you expose your child to an infected child? I know they can spread it by sharing a lollipop or sippy cup, but the 8 month old baby isn't exactly old enough for a lolliop ( I know her mom would not give her one anyway lol), and I don't think she uses a sippy cup yet.

How would you expose an infected 8 month old to a 2 year old? Kisses?

Thanks!

When I exposed my older two to an 11 month old with CP, we shared whistles, took a bath with the child, played, and swapped shirts. I think it was the shirts that worked the best based on my experience later exposing others that wanted CP from my kids. Take an old t-shirt and have the child with CP wear it to bed or during the day, take it off and put on the child you wish to expose.

Anything spit filled.... anything babe puts in her mouth put it in your kids! LOL
SO jealous, just missed the last CP outbreak in my area because we were out of town.
Wonder.... does a shirt work if you mail it?! (have it in a plastic bag of course).

This thread is way old but I was googling and came across it and HAD to comment on this. I wonder if that would work - we could start selling pox-infected shirts online!! lol.gif
