I was scheduled to get tested for the full recurrent loss pane as soon as I got back from vacation. I miscarried 7/12 and they were going to have me wait 6 weeks to make sure my blood levels were prepregnancy normal (with regards to anti-immune stuff in the blood, not the HCG). Well, we're pregnant again, and I really need to know if I have Factor V or Prothrombin or if we are dealing with an immunological issue. Obviously we can't test for the immunological issues while pregnant as the results would be skewed, but I'm already preauthed by insurance for the Factor V and Prothrombin tests.
Since these are genetic tests and therefore not affected by pregnancy, they should be fine to test while pregnant, correct? My OB is saying that we can't because I'm pregnant and it changes the blood (which to an extent she is right due to acquired activated protein C resistance - BUT that just means they should skip right to the genetic testing and skip the screening test as the screening test will be possibly falsely positive).
Anyone have any links to medical journals or papers that show this?
