Anyone else drinking pregnancy tea?

How much are you drinking at this point? I've been making a pitcher of pregnancy tea (nettle, alfalfa, raspberry leaf and peppermint) once or twice a week and drinking about a glass iced a day. I want to up it to more at some point, but just wondering what everyone else is doing

If you're using loose tea (i.e. not the bagged kind you get at the health food store or grocery store), drinking a quart per day is about equal to taking a prenatal vitamin.

I like to make concentrated tea and then add about 1 part tea concentrate to 3 parts cold or hot water, that's the only way I can make sure I'm getting enough.

Just started making some today that I got at the co op. Its the bag kind. Im not super fond of the taste. Im hoping it grows on me. Im missing my Yerba Mate. I used to live on that stuff.

Even though I'm steeping it for over an hour? I'm using the premixed loose blend from bulkherbstore.

I haven't started yet. I need to get on that, I loved it last pregnancy, I'm just so darn aversive this time I'm not sure I'll like it. Thanks for the reminder!

I'm talking about the kind in individual bags like Yogi Tea or Traditional Medicines, I think the quart=prenatal is for any loose tea, so you're probably fine.

I'm inconsistent. I make a big gallon size jar and (in theory) drink a quart a day. In reality, I drink it 2-3 days in a row and then forget I have it in the fridge. My midwife is encouraging me to keep up with it though because she thinks the nettles will help with my allergy symptoms.

I am taking a sip here and there as I can stomach it

nettles can definitely help with allergies...my dp takes it daily and hasn't in the past....this summer has been the best ever for him now that he drinks nettle tea daily.

I have been making hot tea at work each day and just having a cup there and then I will tend to not have anymore in a day...I was really good at the beginning of summer to have quart jars of cold tea each day...and have drifted away from it.

The recipe I use is:
equal parts of nettles, red raspberry, lemon balm, alfalfa, oatstraw
1/2 parts of dandelion, rosehips, lavender, spearmint

heading to the kitchen to brew some up right now though... I need reminders.

if you can get spearmint, it is a better herb for pregnancy than peppermint (less volatile oils)

On some days I'll drink 24-36 ish ounces a day, iced. I don't make it very strong.

i have been drinking red raspberry tea since I was 5 weeks preggo.

Is it safe to drink green roobios? I have a tea blend from mountain rose herb - dawn chorus that has nettle, green roobios and rose pedals. Would love to drink some of them as part of my pregnancy tea. anyone?

So far I have made exactly 1 jug of raspberry leaf tea; but I like that blend mentioned by a PP. I'll have to get the ingredients for that at the co op next time I'm there.

I've never tried green rooibos, nor do I know anything about it in contrast to red rooibos, but I have researched the red and drink it regularily for its iron content and because it is low in tannins unlike other teas, it doesn't cause an interference with iron absorption in the body. It is a great pregnancy tea in general and also fabulous for breastfeeding from what I have researched.

rose petals are supposed to be great for stomache aches and vomitting...perhaps they would be good for pregnancy, but again, I don't have any concrete findings on them. Rosehips on the otherhand...fantastic for pregnancy due to their vitamin C content aiding in iron absorption.

so overall, I'm likely not of any help, but just thought I would let you know what I do know...

I was drinking it a few times a week but started to have a ton of BH contrax (might or might not have been related). I have since backed off but had a cuppa the other day and I really do love the taste. I have been drinking other safe decaf tea blends though
