Help me make sense of my U/S in MExico

I am 7 week with my 5th baby and had been very nauseas and throwing up all night....didnt sleep very well tossing and turning. This morning i felt cold chills and had a low grade fever. We live in Mexico and I had my husband take me to a private hospital to get check out. I felt like DEATH
So they said i was dehydrated and took blood, and started an IV for fluids. They gave me an ultrasound and during the ultrasound the ob dr came in and they started talking in spanish..i speak very little...my husband was not in the room as he had our youngest 2 kiddos with us and kids cant come into the us room.
So i see the uterus and the baby....the us tech pointed out the yolk sac and i saw the heart beat. But to the left of the baby is another sac...but not right beside the baby...it's on the far left hand side of the uterus. The doctor said it's a globule of blood and that it will go away on it's own. That it's nothing to worry about.
But i'm worried.....what is it...and why is it there...how did it get there?
He said i shouldnt have any bleeding...but if i do to rest in bed and not DTD.
WHAT????
If i have bleeding?
Oh i'm scared now....wonder what's going on...what was that seperate sac?

I don't know. But I couldn't just leave you hanging. I can google around a bit, if you would like.

I have a bachelor's in nursing and what comes to my mind is a subchorionic hematoma. Here is an article about it: http://www.justmommies.com/articles/...hematoma.shtml If you search around, you should be able to find more/better information. It's not an uncommon find in first trimester though, and most of the time just disappears with no consequences.

Hope this info helps you!

It could be a subchorionic bleed.

ETA: just the first site I came up with, there might be better info out there.

That sounds like a scary experience.

I'm not sure how much help I can be, but I had a US last week because of bleeding. I didn't have any signs on the US that would have explained the bleeding, but my RE did mention that sometimes "we see sacs of blood in the uterus that can bleed" IDK if he meant a SC bleed or something else.
That to me sounds like what you are describing? He didn't go into more detail and I didn't ask bc I didn't have anything.

I hope you're feeling better.

Sounds exactly like what the other ladies are calling it, subchorionic hemorrhage. I had one with my daughter and they put me on pelvic rest while I was bleeding, and told to take it easy. By 12 weeks it was gone. My baby was fine, she is 2 now. My bleeding went from pink spotting, to a light bright red flow, like the light day of a period, and it was sporadic. Don't use tampons.

Basically when the baby implants sometimes a little pocket of blood forms under the baby, usually they either leak a little blood from time to time until they are smaller, or are dissolved. Did he tell you to get a follow up ultrasound to watch it? I had weekly, then bi-weekly ultrasounds until it was gone/

The interesting thing is i havent had any bleeding or abnormal cramping. So those are good things. He didnt reccomend another u/s, which i thought was a bit strange. I am a little worried about it after reading the post on subchorionic hematomas. I think that is what i have, but mine measured really small compared to what i read that other mama's have. Another good sign.
Thanks mama's for the support.

I have had them in 3 of 4 pregnancies (that we know about - didn't haver an u/s with one). If it's small, that is good, also your age and the the older/bigger the baby is is good as the pressure of the sac helps to reseal it (like putting pressure on a wound). The reccomendations are to drink lots of water (to help prevent clotting), and no DTD and try to keep off your feet. The fact that it is not near the baby is also really good news too.
