I'm looking to buy a sewing machine and, after reading several reviews etc etc, am trying to decide between two Janome machines - a refurbished 11590 and a new Magnolia 7318.
I've read great reviews of the 11590 (and the Kenmore 16231 which I understand is the same machine) and have seen it on sale for a great price. However the choice is between that refurbished and a brand new Magnolia 7318 with sightly fewer features but a brand new full warranty.
I'm a not-quite-beginner (haven't sewn since my mum's old Singer in my teens, c20 yrs ago) and am looking to use the machine mainly for household things - hems, bedding and simple curtains, hopefully some clothes - and want something that'll last for years and I can grow into.
I called a dealer earlier today looking to buy the refurb 11590 but he was talking me back into the 7318 and left me feeling even more confused!
I'd love to hear opinions and advice from anyone who has or has experience of either machine (particularly the 7318 as I can find very few reviews).
