newborn poop

Background:
I EC'd dd1, but didn't start until she was maybe 3 months old and that was 5 years ago. I didn't plan on starting ec so earl with dd2, but when she was a few days old she was grunting and complaining in the night, but refusing to nurse or go back to sleep. I tried holding her over the toilet and lo and behold, she had to poop. We do use diapers, but I hold her over the sink or potty intermittently or when I can tell she needs to go.

Anyways, here's what I'm wondering...
I have a forceful letdown and occasionally her poops are bright yellow and really foamy. REALLY foamy. They are also forceful poops (as in, they shoot out with lots of gas). I was reading this can be a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance and a problem with my forceful letdown? I've been trying to block nurse and today I notice her poop is a bit less foamy and much darker in color and thicker. Anyone know if this is related to a change in our nursing style? Or if there is something else I can try to help her tummy?

How long has this been going on? I had the same issue with my 5 week old a while back it had dissipated after a few days.

How many catches do you get in a day? When I started three weeks ago I got 6-7 in a day! Now I'm down to 2 if I'm lucky... not sure what's going on

My DS's poops used to be bright yellow, then later they calmed down into more of a "peanut butter" color. Consistency is like a thick-ish pudding. My DD's poops did the same thing.

And I also wanted to say that I love the icon you chose for your DD in your siggy. My DD is the same way, lol.
