Help! Gas...

My two week old son is a voracious nurser, and I have tons on milk. No feeding problems other than this:
Latching on seems to sometimes work and sometimes not. He isn't hurting me, but he sucks air around my nipple about 50% of the time. Consequently, Henry has wicked gas gurgling around his little belly. I burp him every feeding, but when he's having a bm he shrieks, screams and acts like it's total torture. We are giving him Babies Bliss gripe water 2x a day, which seems to help, but still....

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

nak

have you tried nursing him upright with you leaning back a bit? slower flow meant less gas for us.
