My 16mo pees through Huggies Overnight Diapers. I tried everything in my collection of cloth and it didn't work so we started buying sposies for nighttime.

Should I start witholding liquids late at night?+

Same thing here. Nothing could contain the morning pee.

When does it occur? We figured out that DS was holding it all night and waiting until he woke up and snuggling with us to perform his morning Super Pee. He was 23 months at the time. Usually it was followed ten minutes later by his Super Poop. If it is early in the morning, you might take it as an opportunity to do a little p'l. DH would rush him him to the potty, sit their with books until SP and SPII were done, and then he would come back to snuggle with us. I found Diaper Free Before Age 3 helpful.

DH and DD have huge bladders.

I don't know when it happens. I notice the diaper when I crawl into bed next to him around 6am (he mostly sleeps with DH during the night...I've wanted space lately)

I hate to wake him to use the potty...he usually sleeps another hour or so

Have you tried going up a size in the sposies? There have been times that I needed to use a larger size at night time than in the day.

Sometimes it is just one of those things. I have a little boy in my daycare that from about 2.5 until 3 he would soak himself from armpits to knees every day during a two hour nap. I still have no idea how he even produced that much urine. He was PL'd for daytime so I would make sure he peed and then we put on a fresh diaper right before he went to sleep, and he always woke up soaked. He just grew out of it eventually.

Is there a time in the evening that he is consuming a lot of liquid? Maybe trying to play around the timing of that would help. My DD often leaks during nights were she has had a bath (she consumes a lot of bath water - yech, I know) and I find if I keep her up for ten more minutes she will have a post-bath pee, I can change her diaper and she won't have any leaks. But if I put her right to bed she will have that same pee and sit in it all night and the diaper can't hold much more.

IMO The Huggies overnight diapers suck, my DS leaked SO badly in them. I went up a size in the regular Huggies for nights and he stopped leaking.

I've had really good success with Target brand diapers. They seem to hold the pee better than any brand name I've tried including the Huggies. If one size doesn't work try the next one up.

Pampers Extra Protection (overnights) rock. They hold so much pee it's unbelievable.

We also use cloth during the day and disposables at night.
Right now our DD rarely leaks, but she used to. We just put a diaper cover on over the disposable to contain the leaks.
