flip covers for newborn/infant?

Someone just introduced me to the Flip covers (she uses them with prefolds) today and I love them! I am just curious as to how well they would work with a newborn? We are just going to do prefolds and a few "light" fitteds with covers, but I am wondering if we should get the specific newborn Thirstie covers for the beginning? This is our first baby, so I really have no idea what size baby we are expecting!

I didn't use Flips when DS was a newborn, but I suspect they would be too loose around the thighs. They're one of the loosest fitting covers around the legs I've seen (which is actually good for us, but doesn't contain things as well).

I'd go with Thirsties or ME Airflow or I've heard good things about Proraps too...

Thanks! I think I'll get xs size thirsties for the newborn stage, and then the next weight range in both thirsties and motherease, as well as a few Flips. I guess if they don't work for us, I can always re sell them.
