We've decided on Emma Mattilynn-Gail. I know long middle name but i already had Emma Mattilynn picked out when I realized my grandmother is the only person in our family no one is named after...so i added her middle name Gail with the - between the two. My mom calls her Emma, my aunt calls her EM n EM lol, and DH calls her Matti....so my poor child probably won't know her real name when she gets here!!! My first DD's name is Jayde Nykole (nykole is my middle name just a different spelling...mine is Nichole). I think i have an obsession with Y's though because Jayde has 2 in her name i have 2 in mine and this one will have 2 in her name....so if we have a little boy or girl our next go round i'm sure i'll make sure to have a Y in his/her name also.

We are so far from a decision, it's not even funny. It's fun to read the names you guys have picked though!

I'm surprised more people aren't giving the holidays a nod with the names. We actually love the name Summer, but it's not really in contention because it seems a bit ridiculous given the dead of winter birthdate.

Actually, after a bit more discussion, we decided that if we use Theo for a girl [other options are Sadie Josephine and Fiona Charlotte], it'll be Theo Noel, in a nod to the holiday. Also some nice underlying meaning there -- theos in Greek refers to the divine, and the Latin origin of noel is, of course, natalis meaning birth.

I'd be interested to hear if other people have thought about season-related names, though! "Noel" is probably the most obvious pick...

Thanks Chick. I've been worried about it a bit, but didn't want to start another baby name poll lol!

My alternative name, if dh hated it, is Hazel (my great-grandmother). For a middle name, that's tougher because all of our girls have biblical middle names, and we were thinking of Ruth. But i don't know how I feel about that. We always have final veto for after the birth, for our sixth child he didn't have a name until he was six days old!

I really, really like Josephine too, but I decided with a daughter named Louisa it might be kinda weird....and DH doesn't like it. I love Charlotte and Alice as well, but both have gotten a little too popular for me (JMHO- I know others are choosing them!)

Thanks!!! You know what's strange...I NEVER thought of the fact that BOTH of those names were actors in those films and trust me, DH and I are nerds right there with you when it comes to LOTR. Too funny! We do love Elijah...DH's middle name is Elias so real close. I think we're going to save that name though...

It seems to me like a longer 3 or more syllable middle name works best with June, but Im not sure how my suggestions go with your last name! Hope this helps!

I honestly like all of your name choices, you have very good taste. I must say that I think I like Jack Finnegan best though. Finnegan is a very awesome middle name and although Jack is popular it is not a trendy name but more of a classic name. Hey, I picked Alexander and we all know that name tops the charts every year. I finally decided that we had to pick our favorite despite popularity and it really helped me to commit 100%

Aw, thanks, Wildecat!! If I was braver I would pick something really cool and different from my list like Finch or Fox, but I'm a name chicken! And DH is so cute when he talks about "our little Jack-Jack!" But I commit to nothing until we see the lil dickens! True what you say about forgeting about the "popular" factor. And as for Alexander, I am a True Blood fan and Alexander Sarsgard is pretty lovely!!

i think we've narrowed it down to Stella (my grandfather was Castella) but I'm having trouble with a middle name. I want an "a" name and I prefer Irish names... I'm thinking Allyna (feminine form of my hubby's middle name Allyn) Then again, if we ever have a boy, I want his middle name to be Allyn so maybe I shouldn't use that as a middle name. I also like Amaris as a middle name with Stella.......

For the past two pregnancies, our boy name was decided...
Blaise Liam Allyn ---- I am SOOO glad that we haven't had a boy, because I really don't like that name anymore! I know too many people that have used Blaise and my dear friend just named her little boy Liam and the more I think about it, the more I want our little boy to have the same name as his father... I guess I'm a little old fashioned!

I love Audrey - that was my first choice for a girl! I also like Charlotte a lot but it does seem to have become rather popular...

We've narrowed our first name choices down to Henry, Oliver, or Owen.
