I had a midwife appt. yesterday (23rd) about 10am. She went ahead and checked me to see how far along I was (she was hoping to go camping) and noticed I was fully effaced and dialated to 3. Jardin was posterior and she left me with some homeopathic stuff to help promote change and directions to get her flip around (which she didn't). After she left I started having cx, from her checking me I guess. I had them all day, but still went for a walk and went and shopped for a carseat. I had spotting here and there, but nothing major.
About 10:30pm, halfway through a movie, I felt this horrible pain, like she engaged into the birthing canal, or something. I went to teh tiolet, and lost my mucous plug. D called the mw at 10:30, I sat on the toilet and dealt with really fast moving horrid cx. The mw got to the house about 20 min later and that's when I started to push. I remember her coming into the bathroom and asking her if I should move to the bed. SHe said only if I didnt' want to deliver on the toilet. I think I was happy to push, it gave me something to do as it was hard to just sit through the cx.
Jardin popped out about 11:34pm, weighing 8pounds 2oz, and 21" long. She started nursing right away, her cord was clamped due to needing a blood sample because of my blood type, and vernix rubbed in while she nursed. The mw and her asst. hung out until about 2:30 just making sure everything was okay, then left. Before they left the asst. made imprints on paper of the placenta. We are saving it to put under a plant or 2. Jardin, D. and I went to sleep about 3 and slept until 8:30 am.
