9 days past due, Alessandra arrived at home. The birth did't go quite as I had hoped, but she was strong and healthy from the start. Third stage problems led to my emergency trip to the hospital, followed by a blood transfusion for severe blood loss and a three day hospital stay. I'm working through my feelings around the birth, but am grateful that my milk came in and I have my new little girl to snuggle.
She was 8 lbs, 1 oz, 21 inches long. Loads of dark hair.
