Balance bikes work!

My DS (not quite 3.5) has been riding a balance bike all summer this year, and for part of the summer last year and recently has started to absolutely FLY on it. He literally can keep up with most of the kids on pedal bikes.

Last Thursday a neighbor brought out a tiny little bike with pedals and he begged to try it and this is what happened! Excuse the shaky camera, I was running after him as he TOOK OFF around our apartment complex.

Very cool! We had the same experience- DS rode his balance bike around the house, then took off on a regular bike at age 3.25. I love them!

heck yeah, they work! Our youngest was riding a regular (way too big for him) bike on his 3rd birthday, after riding a balance bike for a year and a half. He still likes to use it, especially on longer rides or when we head to the jumps. He is now 3yrs, 4 mos and kicking butt on the bikes.

I'm so sold on balance bikes and we don't even have one yet. I just need to find the time to start looking around.

WOw!! I wish I could find something for my kids. At this point I'm ready to just buy them new bikes and take the pedals off.
