keeping your laptop lunch cool

how do you keep your laptop lunch cool? there's really not any room in there for any ice packs.

i'm fortunate enough to teach at the montessori school my daughter attends, so i've been putting all her cold items in the fridge until her class goes out for lunch. however, i know one of these days i'll eventually forget and would like to find something that will keep it cool.

what am i missing? what does everyone else do?

Honestly, I don't do anything. Everything is cold when I put it in, I refrigerate overnight and then he puts it in the case and off to school he goes.

Do you have the carrying case? For my older DD I just slide a smallish ice pack into the mesh pocket on the inside of the insulated case.

If you include a drink you could try putting it in the freezer overnight (as in the night before). I did this with my daughter's juice box while she was in elementary school, and I've used the same system with refillable drink bottles. (The drink works as an ice pack then.)

I've used squares I've cut from a Rubbermaid Ice Blanket. However, I started using an old "Boo Boo Buddy" and it works even better since it doesn't sweat.
