Does anyone know how weaning after extended bf'ing affect hormones? I bf for almost 8 years (with a break in the middle for pregnancy) and finally weaned in Feb
. Now I am having all sorts of problems with my hormones. I have terrible problems with my breasts before my cycle begins - I think it is fibrocystic breasts - so much so that I feel I have the flu. My cycle is long and heavy. I have uterine fibroids and polyps. I have insomnia, varicose veins, headaches and migraines. (I could go on, but I won't bore you!)
All this started after I weaned. Could weaning after extended breastfeeding messed up my hormones? I am going to the drs to get a hormone test, but I wondered if anyone knew anything about it?
