For some reason I remember them saying at my orientation that it was really up to the mom but that 6 hours was the average. I thought it was more of a 'when you're ready and you've met certain criteria like nursing your babe, eating something, using the bathroom, etc...'

I transferred to UNC through WBWC and it was definitely frustrating to be at the hospital and wanting to go home but having to wait on so many different people to have to check us out... good luck with your upcoming birth!
