I do believe in vaccinations and generally think that they are a good idea. However, I will not be getting a flu shot. I didn't get the regular shot last year, nor the H1N1 shot. I do have asthma and it gets pretty bad with upper-respiratory infections (I will usually need a nebulizer and prednisone), so I fall into the high-risk category. The last time I got it, I ended up with the flu anyway.

I won't get it because it contains mercury, and I don't want to inject that into my body because I don't think the risks of getting the flu outweigh the benefits of the vaccine. I think having the flu going around is normal and rarely people die from it. So, yeah, I might get sick. I might be off work for a week. I might need meds. Am I going to get hospitalized? Probably not. I haven't done any research on it, as I think you can find studies to back up any opinion you have on this issue with very few of them actually being valid, this is just a personal opinion.
