Rollercoastermama,

Yah for you that you slept like a log!

My Economics class is killing me! I am so tired in the evenings, I just can't get into the material (and it's mostly review for me), and basically nod off. It doesn't help that the book is crappy.

My daughters have begun their activities. Rythmic gymnastics and ice skating. My 7yo dd has been selected for competitive gymnastics training this year, which means she has training 3 times a week for a total of 11 hours. I have gotten to know some of the other parents though, and they are very interesting and nice!

I saw a new therapist yesterday and she is great! She recommended I read a book called 'The Happiness Trap', and I'll see her again in two weeks. As 'homework' I need to take account of what my actions are in response to my emotions - positive or negative, and write them in my journal. Already just from yesterday afternoon and this morning I already have 6 examples!

I am also happy that autumn is here! I love the bright colored leaves, the crisp evenings, and wearing my fall skirts/shirts and shoes.

Ok, I know I've been wishy washy about what I want to do with life, and various programs I want to study, but I think I've finally figured out MY PLAN. I found THE program that'll bank on my already gotten B.Ed., while providing interesting intellectual stimulation and possibly interesting career prospects when I complete the degree. It's a graduate level diploma in distance education....it's 30 credits, all completed online, and it's graduate work, which I've been wanting to do for some time now. The courses all sound very interesting and are geared specifically at teaching how to design distance education courses...there's even an internship offered at the end of the degree, which can also be completed online! If I can manage to do 2 courses per term, I should finish in about 2 years or so. By then, DD will be 4, and it may be a bit easier for me take a job which requires more of my energy/time.

In the meantime though, I'll remain in my boring job, use my free time at work to study, keep stashing away money, get in on the "buying a duplex" project my parents are going ahead with, and keep DD in that fabulous/expensive daycare she's in right now.

I've filled out all the silly forms (are they going to require a urine sample on top of all the documents they want me to provide???) and will mail everything out on Monday.

*phew* it feels so good to have finally outlined "a plan" for the next couple of years, instead of just floating by, frustrated and uncertain. Heh, what can I say...I'm a "plan-making" kind of person!

I'm having a GOOD WEEK!!

*Turns out my bleh grade in one of my online classes is actually a high A! I somehow missed that he curves from the top score! And the test I tanked...everyone else tanked worse than me! YAY!(?)

*GORGEOUS sunny weather and the leaves are turning and I've got my baby boy this weekend to go hang out in the leaves together---maybe go out to an apple orchard or something.

*Having girl hormones again rocks! (2 weeks to the big day!)

*Baby boy is no longer a snot factory. Yay!

*XH's job went from temp to permanent. This is a HUGE deal. He's been sort of temp contracting for the past year+ and they have to renew his orders every 6 months. Now he's going to have the same job but it's a permanent job. Which means that the likelihood of him needing to live in my garage when the orders finally run out is significantly less. Major stress relief all around.

It's amazing what a streak of good things will do to turn around a mood! :-D

RCM -- glad you're having a good week!

Last week was absolutely horrid for me, so this week has been a big improvement so far, except for DS refusing naps. But we're going on vacation with my parents in just a few weeks. Hooray!

In other news...the house right across the street from my parents just went up for sale at a GREAT price. I know it's wishful thinking to hope I could buy it, at least until our other house sells, but I can at least dream. Maybe if it's still on the market next year...
