glad he's bfing so well erica! so great to hear that a 6 month old can still be retaught to BF. seems like he is getting just what he needs and although he's clingier at least he stopped screaming!

toes are so cute! i keep encouraging r to get his. he'll grab em and just look around, loose one, grab it again and look at me like "well i've got them...now what do i do?" only once has he really tried to get his toes in his mouth though. OTOH he constantly wants to taste my glass. he likes the pure smoothness and it usually has some condensation on it. he also liked PB yesterday (yeah i know but it was just a taste of the natural stuff) he didn't tounge thrust it and was interested in the taste and texture...then he was ready to play. i can see he is just starting to be interested in food (not just watching cause its movement) and its cool to see the development.

P&H~ glad the insurance is starting to come through. so much debt just tied to medical bills for so many people in this country. yuck. R's weight is 16 lbs (with clothes and diaper) and he is 25.25 inches long. sounds like they are almost exactly the same!

i also think the extra drool from teething is causing more spit up. he used to never spit up and now its several times a day. also he had a little white hard tip of a tooth i could feel and now it dissapeared!

The competition is getting fierce over there.

I consider myself the color commentator of the great DDC closing bash of 2010.

In this corner sits LNF, winner of the silver birth stool. She was close to the golden stool but it was pulled out from under her by a technicality. Now she fights for the crowning honor of LAST WOMAN STANDING in the April 2010 DDC.

Ha! I've got Sprout down for a nap and Nugget having quiet time, so all I've got to do is try to steal the Last Poster title!

Welcome, ebb(b?)! Now I forget how many b's! Lucy sounds adorable.

You guys, it's amazing. I didn't want to say anything the last few days for fear of jinxing it, but Sprout is NAPPING. Like, not 30-minute thing cat-naps. Real, 1-2 hour (mostly 1.5 hour) naps! He's also started sleeping better at night again!

What it seems like is that when he started being able to roll over, he wanted to get himself into a more comfy position -- specifically, on his side. And he could roll over there, but couldn't maintain it, and would fall over onto his back at the slightest and wake up. Now he's figured out how to balance there, and he's sleeping stomach and side and apparently loving it!

And let it be known that the technicality I lost on was that SILVERSPOOK IS REALLY AN ELEPHANT WITH AN ABNORMALLY LONG GESTATION PERIOD, AND ELEPHANTS DON'T USE BIRTH STOOLS!!!!

Hmm. We should catch ebbb up. Okay. So some people apparently didn't think April was a good enough month to have a baby. Although they didn't make it to their goal of 2016 still pregnant, they gave it a good run and ended up in May. The last person pregnant won the golden birth stool -- that was silverspook. LNF came close, with the silver. And .... I can't remember who had bronze!!

And yes, a bunch of us WERE too awesome for April. April could not contain our grandeur. It burst forth with magnificence into May.

BTW, I still absolutely intend to make, take a picture of, and then send a Golden Birth Stool to SilverSpook.

anyone else find it funny that since the stool was pulled out from under her, she is now technically in a squat (which is half standing) position and lnf actually DID give birth on an island (in a squatting position!) You lnf are a lady of weird consequences.

yes some people were also to good for april and gave birth in MARCH instead.

i wasn't in the running for anything *sniff sniff* i never get to play! waaaahhhhhh

Oh R is sooo ready for food. he no longer tounge thrusts anything that tastes good. he is just not quite ready to do self feeding though. he can't sit up enough and i'm afraid he's going to get it in his lungs or choke or something. i have a bumbo i'm borrowing but i just gave him a cracker that disintigrates on spit contact and he still didn't seem to be able to do it well enough. gah! i hate to hold him off when he is really in the spot to try and learn and is wanting to do it but the sitting...he must sit! i will not do purees and i will not feed him (beyond helping him get the food back in his hand or picking up half the plate from the floor) what to do what to do....

You ladies are so funny, you crack me up. I wanna go back to our DDC, having our thread in LWAB means that now when I open LWAB, I see not only our thread to read, but a whole page of interesting looking posts that I must also open and read, thus forcing me to spend more time on the internet.

Spit up - we have lots of it over here, DH is always complaining and saying "something has got to be wrong with her". With DD1, she was on zantac for reflux, so once she was medicated, she almost never spit up, so DD2 is an adjustment for him. She's a happy spitter and I'm lazy so I haven't done any diet modifications.

Food - It is going to be a tough month and a half to get to 6 months. Kelsey seems very interested in what we are eating at mealtime. I'm going to have to pull out my bag of solid delaying tricks soon. I can't believe she is getting so big!

Ericka - hurray for breastfeeding!!!

Danielle -- You could just hold off a bit longer. It's not going to hurt him to wait another month or so until he's got the sitting part down, and it would prevent your dilemma.

AFM -- I'm up at a ridiculous hour because I had to get yet another amazingly loud tree frog off of our lanai. They're so loud they wake Sprout up! I've gotten pretty good at getting them off of there, but doing so wakes me up and I can't get back to sleep. *sigh*
