DS turns his nose at fruit!

Is this a phase or will I have one fruit kid and one veggie kid? He scarfs down green beans, peas, carrots, squash and sweet potatoes, but when we've offered a banana - he starts fussing and spits it out. We've offered peaches and apples as well - all of this is pureed - and he'll eat some of the apple but won't eat the peaches.

Should I introduce avocado, since it's a fruit, and see how he does with that?

It's probably just a phase. My DS didn't like watermelon, peaches, pears, cantaloupe, or cherries at first. He eats all of them now. I'm talking about chunks of fruit though, not purees. Maybe give him soft pieces that he can pick up or hold himself and he might like them more. We started with a mix of small pieces of food and purees (homemade and Earth's Best) but DS quickly showed his preference for small pieces so we stopped purees pretty quickly. Just keep offering the fruit along with things he likes and eventually he'll probably develop a taste for them.

Now for the bananas, we did offer it to him in a chunk and he didn't like it then. I'm going to get some fruit at the farmer's market this weekend and give it a whirl.

I'm sure it's normal. My DD started out eating things pretty well but now that she's 9 months old, she is turning into a more picky eater. Drives me nuts! And she is the most stubborn little thing -- once she makes up her mind she doesn't want it, there is NO convincing her otherwise, lol. The only thing she'll consistently eat is yogurt, tiny pieces of cheese, bread, and organic "puffs" (real healthy, I know). She's vetoed eggs, cucumber, potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash, bananas, peaches, pluots, applesauce, pees, grean beans, .. you name it. And she used to like some of this stuff and then one day decided she'd had enough! I keep working on it but it feels like an endless battle already.
