Anterior placenta AND early movement?

Thread Starter
I felt movement very early with DD (2nd pregnancy) around 13 weeks. I'm now 14 weeks with #3 and I feel what I think might be the baby from time to time, but I've been told that I have an anterior placenta. From what I've heard/read, an anterior placenta causes you to feel movement much later. I'm not feeling a lot, but I am feeling something that feels very much early movement (like little taps). Is it maybe not the baby at all?

Anyone else have experience with this?

I felt movement undeniably at just before 9 weeks (extremely early, yes... but baby is large enough and moving by that point)

but my placenta is very much anterior (but shifted to the right a bit, most of my movement would be on the left!)

the movements i felt where the placenta is located came on later/softer, but indeed you can have an anterior placenta and still have early movement!

mine was anterior AND previa at my 21 week ultrasound! Which explained why I could feel movement to the left and top but not on the front/right/lower parts of my uterus

anterior does not necessarily mean centered over the front, just that it is positioned to the front rather than to the back.

I had movement around 14 weeks with my first baby and an anterior placenta. I think it's totally possible.

yes, I also had this. Movement at 16 weeks (I guess that's not THAT early) and anterior pl. First pregnancy. Now pl is sort of on the left, I feel it all on the right pretty much.

I'm 16 weeks today (with # 2), and have been feeling movements for quite a while now say 11+ weeks and was told that I too have an Anterior placenta. I feel movements all over some movements softer than others but I'm sure its the baby. Doctors say it's comon for an Anterior placenta to shift since it's still early in the game

I have an anterior placenta and felt movement at 13 weeks. I probably had some even before but was still having phantom kicks from ds's pregnancy/birth so I dismissed it all until until it was an extremely obvious double foot tapdance deal. The movement I felt early on was all on the left and the placenta is a bit to the right. I still feel little to nothing directly through it but I wouldn't say it is impossible either.

With my first I had an anterior placenta and I felt movement by 14 weeks. I'm also "fluffy" and they say that will delay feeling movement which I think is total crap. Some people are more sensitive than others. I've always felt myself ovulate too.
