Hi Everybody!

I am currently 10 1/2 weeks pregnant with my first child and I'm at the ripe old age of 38 My husband is active duty Army and we're currently stationed at Ft Polk Even before getting pregnant (it took us awhile) I had started looking into birthing options & I knew I wanted to do a water birth if at all possible. Of course, in the military way of doing things, I'm considered high risk just for my age alone & anything other than a "standard" hospital birth is not possible with their care providers. And thus far, I'm not impressed with the military system at all. Needless to say, I'm persuing other options & I look forward to the wealth of knowledge and experience I will receive from everyone here & it's great to have such a great resource to help me along the way!

Aw! Congratulations on your LO!!! You have some time before his/her arrival, so don't give up hope! You may be able to come up with a compromise or incorporate a birth plan that will allow you to have some control over and faith in your personal birthing process.
