Semester on or off?

I read a lot on this forum, but haven't posted too much. But I've got a dilema I was hoping you all could offer some perspective on.

We are currently in a city about 800 miles from our families. Dh job is good, but lately he's been much less satisfied with it for a number of reasons. We don't love the city we're in and are now thinking that its time to move back towards home. We love the midwest and want to get back up there, and have DS and our upcoming LO know their grandparents. So DH has really begun an intense job search. Originally I signed up for classes again this semester (just part time for now). But I'm wondering if I should just take the semester off, spend time getting our house ready for sale and hope DH gets a job in the next 4 months. But doing that would put me a semester behind when I hoped to graduate and I don't want to take a year off or anything like that. Or I'm wondering if I should just take classes knowing that I might have to drop. But then I take the chance of putting in tons of time, effort and money just to withdraw and get no credit.

So what would you do? Take classes or take a break? I'm planning on taking next semester off already because of the new baby, who is due end of February.

I would stay in school for this semester, assuming that you are due after the end of it. The economy is lousy. The housing market is lousy. Odds are, everything will take longer than you think. I don't think those are good reasons to take the semester off. To quote my mom, transfer credits are forever.

What are you taking? How far are you into your degree? Do you have a plan on where you would be able to transfer to?

How quickly are houses selling in your area? Around here it is taking a lot longer than four months to show, sell, and close on a house.

Unless you expect your DH to find a job quickly, and that you would be able to relocate quickly, I would plan on taking classes and worry about the rest as it comes.

But... I would also look into the details regarding transferring to another school. If you end up taking a bunch of classes that you aren't able to transfer that would be a waste of time and money.

No real answers here... just more questions!
