the time you go to bed shouldnt change anything as far as im aware and it doesnt for me...

as far as i know as long as you have 3 hours of gd sleep before you take your temp in the morning then itd pretty much accurate...

everyone is different though i suppose... but i sometimes wake up during the night and go back to sleep at 3am and take my temp at 5.30am and it doesnt change it ...

If I am remembering all the details from "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" right, you are OK if you go to bed within half an hour before or after your bedtime. More than that, and you'll start to see your bbt change.

So 2-4 hrs after normal bedtime would effect bbt, I'm a bit relieved because that could mean I'm not out yet.

becky - - I experience the same thing (low temps after short sleep, even if it is way more than 3 hours), and now make a note of it in my charts.

Thanks, I never realised how stressful temping was.

I have a spot on my chart where I can note "poor sleep," because it does play with my numbers a bit. The other ladies are right, though, generally three hours of consistent sleep is needed to get an accurate reading. And, which it's easier said than done, don't read too much into one number. Just wait until tomorrow to see what your reading is and look at the pattern - it's easy for me to type that, but I'm the queen of over-analyzing every up or down in my chart!
