We started part time EC when ds was about 9 mo...by 11-12 mo he was signing every time he peed. I screwed up--When we were in public i didn't take him to the bathroom, and let him pee in his diaper.
Anyway, now he is 16 mo, and we are all getting frustrated. Every morning, we put him on the potty and he poops. After every meal we put him there, and it's hit or miss, and half the time we get an evening poop. But during the day when we are home, I leave him naked, in undies, or in a thin cloth dipe. He just goes wherever he is. He no longer signs or cues, even though we do it when he goes....Sometimes he won't let us put him on the potty, or he gets up and walks away. When he goes on the floor or in pants, he will not look at us or let us talk to him about it. He purposely ignores us or runs away.
He doesn't seem to mind being wet either. Sometimes he pees right after he refuses to sit.
He even peed on me while i was holding him yesterday.
We keep books, trucks etc in the bathroom. I bring the potty into the living room so he can watch tv while he sits. We bring him into the bathroom every time we go. I feel like i am harassing him all day to go potty.
I've tried to give you all the background info...
Please send me any advice you can! We were doing so well and now we are desperate!
Also, I just found out we're pregnant, and ds will be 24-25 mo when baby comes, so i'd really like to have him on a good track by then!
