gas meds safe for bf mom?

Hi, I tried searching, but most posts were about baby's gas. I am wondering what I can take for my own gas! I had a c-section and in the hospital they gave me a chewable minty gas pill... but i don't know what it was. I've tried looking online but I'm coming up with nothing. What's safe for me to take?
thx

These are rather personal and graphic questions so don't answer if you aren't comfortable. You can just research the things I mention and think about whether or not they're an issue for you.
Are you having painful gas? Foul odor? If it's foul you'll know. Are there any other symptoms? Any trouble sleeping?

I ask these questions because while dealing with ds (8mo) food intolerances I've discovered a few of my own that are directly linked to gas, tummy issues, GI issues I've had for years. I am getting better but it's taking some serious work healing my gut to get things back where they should be.

Hi Mama,
Kellymom and Dr. Hale's are two good sources to look for compatabilities with BFing and nursing. Also, you may want to check with your healthcare provider if you are unsure.
I don't have severe gas issues, but find that a cup of strongly steeped chamomile tea daily helps settle my stomach (and DD's too).

Our docs give Mylanta gas tablets (simethicone) to c-section moms. Yes, it's completely safe for breastfeeding!

Gas-X is another brand name gas tablet. It's safe. It's the same thing that is in Mylicon which is very very frequently used in infants, even newborns.
